Adding custom fields to the contacts database
Suite26 includes a number of common standard fields in the contacts database, but can easily be extended with the addition of unlimited custom fields.
To add a new custom field click on the Contacts tab and then on Custom Fields.

You will see a list of any custom fields you currently have. You can edit or delete these fields as required.
To add a new custom field click the Add New Custom Field button.

Enter the required details for the custom field.
Field ID - This may contain letters & numbers only. You will use this ID when adding this field into your e-mail campaigns.
Field Label - This is the neat name for the field. This will be shown next to the field when viewing the contact and in field lists when using the filter and exporting contacts etc.
Input Type - The type of field this is. The most common would be Text Box, but you can also select other types. If you choose Select List or Radio Buttons you will be asked to enter the options for these.
Input Validation - You can choose to select validation on this field (ie; ensure it is numeric only). Note: validation is only done when contacts are manually created and is ignored when contacts are imported.
Input Required - Tick this box if a value for the field MUST be entered. Note: validation is only done when contacts are manually created and is ignored when contacts are imported.
Help Text - This text is displayed when the blue question mark icon next to the field is hovered over.

This custom field you have added will now appear alongside standard fields in all areas of the system.
