When Suite26 was originally launched we used TinyMCE as the WYSIWYG editor for creating and editing email campaigns.  A few months after launch we decided to integrate FCKeditor instead and make it the default editor, whilst still retaining support for TinyMCE to avoid confusion.

We firmly believe that the FCKeditor is easier to use and produces better formatted HTML output than the TinyMCE editor and the decision has been taken to remove the TinyMCE editor from Suite26 as from 1st October 2009.

If you are one of the few users still using TinyMCE within Suite26 you can switch to FCKeditor today by clicking on the Options tab then on Preferences.   Any users who have not switched by 1st October will be switched automatically.

We have now added a new feature onto Suite26 that allows you to request your very own custom built email template.  By clicking on the Customised Templates button on the home page, you can now design your own unique email template to completely reflect your style, business logo, preferred layout and presentation style.  All you have do is submit your contact details and we'll put you in touch with one of our preferred design agencies, who'll then contact you directly.  Custom designed template prices start from only £195 excluding VAT.

Recently Gmail announced a new feature that allows recipients to click a 'unsubscribe from this sender' link within the Gmail interface to be removed from future mailings.   The same feature is also available to Gmail users when they use the 'Report Spam' button.

Gmail users access this link by first clicking on the 'Show Details' link when they receive a message, as seen in the image below.

We are pleased to announce that Suite26 now supports the additional unsubscribe method the Gmail is providing.   A Gmail recipient clicking on this link will be unsubscribed from you contacts within minutes of clicking the link and you will see the unsubscribe recorded in your usual campaign reports with a reason of 'Feedback Loop'.

At present Gmail will only show this unsubscribe link when the email has been signed with DomainKeys/DKIM so that they can be sure that the email has come from a valid sender, it is therefore important for you to setup an authenticated domain with Suite26.  It only takes a few minutes to setup an authenticated domain, it's totally free with Suite26 (many providers will charge you £100s to do this) and, even better, it will help your deliverability - what are you waiting for?

This evening (Monday 10th August 2009) we will be upgrading some of the infrastructure that powers Suite26.

The work will commence around 18:00 BST and last for approximately 1 hour.     During this time the Suite26 application will remain available, but there may be a short delay in email campaigns being sent out.   Any bounces, clicks, opens, unsubscribes etc will be recorded and processed as usual.

We will update our Twitter page with status updates throughout the maintenance period.

We've recently added two new email campaign reports into Suite26.

The first is a Not Opened report which allows you to view and export the recipients that did not open your email campaign. The second is Opened But Not Clicked report which allows you to view and export recipients which opened your campaign but did not click on any links, allowing you to follow up further if you wish.

Both of these new reports can be accessed from the Delivery Overview report. You'll find them listed in the More Reports section underneath all of the usual statistics.

To use a template, simply create your campaign as normal and then click on the Edit Primary Content link.   You will now see our built-in WYSIWYG editor, and just above and to the right of that you will find the Use A Template link.   Upon clicking on this link you will be able to select a template of your choice which will be inserted into the editor and can then be changed to meet your requirements.
